On November 21, 2019, Invivo Surgical Clinic visited the chief specialist of the Center for Surgical Correction of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders of the Iranian Hospital in Dubai (UAE), Professor Imran Abbas. During this visit, LIVE SURGERY performed by prof. Imran Abbas, for obesity and for the correction of carbohydrate metabolism (type 2 diabetes mellitus).

He is Master surgeon of Metabolic & bariatric surgery accridated by surgical Review corporation(SRC MSMBS). he has experience of laparoscopic surgery more than 12 years especially in the field of Laparoscopic bariatric surgery and has good experience in all types of minimal invasive surgeries like Scarless thyroidectomy,laparoscopic hernia repair,laparoscopic splenectomy,laparoscopic adrenalectomy,laparoscopic colectomies,laparoscopic heller myotomy,laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair,laparoscopic funoplication and laparoscopic gynecological procedures.He has experience of all types of bariatric surgeries like gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, RNY gastric bypass,Deudenal switch,Billiopancreatic diversion,gastric plication and did more than 2000 cases of bariatric surgery.His main interest is one anastomosis gastric bypass.He has good experience of redo bariatric surgeries.He is innovator of novel procedure for low BMI diabetic patients,laparoscopic gastric plication with ileal bypass.He has membership of American college of surgeons(ACS),American society for Metabolic & bariatric surgery(ASMBS),International bariatric Club(IBC).He is master trainer of Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery and has demonstrated master classes in pakistan.He has demonstrated live laparoscopic bariatric surgeries in different bariatric surgery conferences.
Abbas met with the faculty of the department and undergraduates at the Department of Surgical Diseases of TMA. After familiarizing ourselves with the work of the department and the staff at the Invivo Clinic, until 2:00 pm, 2 operations were conducted in the master class, at 3:00 pm in the lecture hall of the Department of Surgical Diseases, a lecture was given on the topic “Prospects for bariatric and metabolic surgery in the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes” . And there was also a round table on the topic “Modern operations in the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes”
After the lecture, in the form of a discussion with professors and associate professors, undergraduates and students, the most pressing issues on bariatric and metabolic surgery were discussed, then at 15:00 another master class operation was performed – mini-gastric shunting.
